Is a Shampoo bar a normal soap bar?
KinKind shampoo bars are like bottled shampoo ingredients but without the water and without the plastic bottle. They lather and foam up like regular shampoo. They are not regular soap.
How do I use a Shampoo bar?
Wet your hair and the bar. Rub it in your hands and you'll see it lathers up instantly. Circle on your hair if you wish for more lather. Place the bar on a rack. Massage hair and rinse.
Do KinKind shampoo bars work in hard water?
Absolutely yes! They lather and foam up instantly, just like shampoo from a plastic bottle
How do I use a Conditioner bar?
Stroke the bar down the length of your hair. Feel the hair relax and detangle. Rinse.
How do I store my bars so they don't go soft and mushy?
For successful switching to bars, they need to air dry. Get the storage right and they will last for ages. They should be stored out of the flow of running water. We recommend a wooden rack on the ledge of a bath, or a metal rack that suctions on to tiles.
How can I tell the difference between a Shampoo bar and a Conditioner bar when they are in the shower/bath and no longer have a label?
Some shampoo and conditioner bars are the same colour so this may cause confusion. Here's how to tell them apart.... shampoo bars look and feel a bit grainy whilst conditioner bars are very smooth. Shampoo bars lather instantly with water, whereas Conditioner bars do not lather at all, (because you stroke it down your hair). If you start with a bar that does not lather in your hands when you wet it, then you have started with the conditioner! Pop it back on the rack and start with the other bar that will foam up and lather instantly.
Where are your bars made?
All of our bars are hand-made and hand-packed in the UK. We post out via Royal Mail to avoid the need for extra couriers. We have designed the business in this way in order to keep our Carbon Footprint as low as possible, and to support British businesses.
Are your products animal tested?
None of our products or ingredients are tested on animals.
Are your products vegan?
All of our products are vegan friendly.
Do you use Palm Oil in your products?
Our Shampoo and Conditioner bars contain RSPO Sustainably Sourced Palm Oil. Our Certified 66% Organic BodyWash, BodyScrub & Shave bars contain Palm Oil and some palm oil derivatives from certified sustainable sources.
Do your products contain SLS?
All of our Shampoo Bars are SLES free, which means that they are the kindest to skin that we can make them.
Are your products suitable for babies or hypo-allergenic?
None of our products are tested for use on baby skin.
Are your products Curly Girl Method friendly?
The Conditioner bars are silicone free. Both the shampoo bars and conditioner bars do contain some sulphates. The shampoo bars use Sodium Coco Sulfate, which is gentler than Sodium Laureth Sulfate which is used in most bottled shampoos. All of the ingredients are listed under each product in KinKind. Our recommendation is to take a look at the ingredients for NOURISH me! Shampoo and Conditioner bars, as they use minimal ingredients to give great results.

Do you send KinKind outside of the UK?
From July 2021, with new Brexit VAT implications for customers we have decided to suspend International & EU deliveries. If you would like to order, please have your products sent to a friend/family in the UK and ask them to send KinKind on to you.
