The KinKind Story

I’m Victoria and founder of KinKind, and I would love to tell you more about the story behind the business.

KinKind was born out of my frustration with trying to find hair and skincare products and deodorants that really delivered performance, that weren't supplied in throw-away plastic bottles. All of the eco products I tried just didn't work for me.

So, I decided to create... KinKind. We are setting a new global standard for results-driven beauty without plastic.

Performance Is Non-Negotiable

We are creating a new breed of results-driven, high-performance beauty products that are lovely to use and genuinely better for our planet, with no plastic packaging. I realised it was possible to source natural-origin ingredients that have clinically proven performance. And, with focus, determination and perseverance, we are formulating and delivering these without the need for plastic packaging.

Standards, Not Statements

Plastic-free isn’t a campaign. It’s our baseline. It's in our DNA. KinKind is a truly sustainable and proudly British Beauty Brand, and we're setting the standard for plastic-free, truly sustainable beauty.

My aim is to be the ‘go to’ high-quality, high-performance, affordable hair and beauty products which are fully sustainable and plastic-free, and available worldwide. And we're working very hard to get there!

Kindness, Built In

Kindness is not marketing. We positively design products that protect the planet, so we can be Kind to our next of Kin, hence the name KinKind.

We choose the kinder way, even when it’s harder. And believe me, it is!

Multi-Award Winning

The Beauty Industry has recognised that we are breaking new ground, and that our products really do perform. Since 2020 when we were crowned Best New British Beauty brand at the Pure Beauty Awards, we have won a vast number of UK Beauty Awards for our sustainable innovations, we have been recognised twice by The Independent as Indy Best Buys, we've been included in the Start Up 100 list, and we won an important, but unglamorous award called the UK Retail Supply Excellence award in 2020, beating huge companies like Asda and Waterstones for our low-carbon approach to logistics - ie: not shipping high water content and using the Royal Mail on foot for our "through-the-letterbox" deliveries... which we still do today.

B-Corp Certified

In summer 2025, KinKind became a B-Corp Certified company, where we are proud to meet high standards of environmental and social performance.

Our Impact

We have already saved over 1.3 million plastic bottles. This not only means we have saved them from becoming plastic waste and pollution, but it also means that they have not needed to be made from finite resource fossil-fuel oil in the first place. You can read more about our Impact here.

Female Founded

Being a female founder and supporting other women is hugely important to me. Why? I previously enjoyed a 20+ year career working in a big multinational company, marketing big brands like Vanish and Clearasil. It was an amazing journey working with incredibly bright people, but there were very, very few female role models, and a culture that didn't support flexible working and dual careers (with my husband working too), and between us managing childcare.

Even though running KinKind is an absolute roller-coaster, I recognise that I am hugely privileged to be a female founder, that I am able to create jobs and support other women to be successful in their careers. Our small team at KinKind is majority women. I am also a member of Buy Women Built, an amazing movement that shines a light on female entrepreneurship.

They say being a founder can be a lonely place, and it's true. Since launching KinKind, I have really valued the support of former colleagues, friends, family, business associates and funders, and of course our lovely customers and so many others in getting KinKind to where we are today. And, with our vision "To make plastic-free the new global standard for results-driven hair and skin care rituals", there is so much more to do, and more to come.

Enjoy KinKind!
