Our 'Giving Back' to UK Families

KinKind families are creating positive change against plastic!

KinKind is ‘giving back’ 25% of profits to projects or groups that make a difference to UK families, by helping them enjoy the outdoors and our environment.

If you're new to KinKind, you can see more on KinKind plastic free bars here

As a KinKind customer or follower you get a chance to vote on which projects should receive a share of KinKind profits so they can continue to make a difference for UK families, to help them enjoy the great outdoors and our environment.

From the tremendous response to the first round of nominations we shortlisted 3 projects. Voting for the first round for a share of £500 KinKind Giving Back Donation closed on 30th Aug. Here you can see the results...

Aylesbury Wombles received 56% of the votes
A volunteer community litter picking group, with the motto “It’s not our rubbish. but it is our town”. This amazing group encourages the whole family to get involved in litter picking and recycling whenever they can. This is with the aim of making Aylesbury a better place for those living in it and educate the community's children on  litter. With members ages ranging from 2 -88 years old, anyone can get involved! So far this year they have managed to clear 3500 bags of rubbish off the streets of Aylesbury, recycling over 1.5 tons worth of aluminium cans.

Lepton Community Orchard received 24% of the votes
Described as a ‘very small, constituted community group with big ideas’, they’d formed earlier this year with the aim to revamp their local recreation ground in Lepton, Huddersfield. Central to these plans is an orchard containing flowers and fruit and nut trees. This amazing project wants to show  children, that food is not ‘born’ wrapped in plastic at a supermarket and create an accessible area for anyone in the community to enjoy. Also included in plans is a revamp of the play area to include natural play equipment and using the green space around it to provide picnic and community planting areas. This all with the aim of creating an area where local families can enjoy the beautiful outdoors.

Friends of Eaglesfield Park received 20% of the votes
This group of community volunteers have built  a sustainably sourced wood playground in their park in South East London. Located at the top of Shooters Hill SE18 the park commands amazing views across London and Kent and despite only opening a few weeks ago is drawing many new families to enjoy the wonderful green environment and the clean air it provides. However, currently the perimeter path around the playground isn't accessible for disabled children, particularly those reliant on wheelchairs. A donation to this amazing group would go towards the £6000 needed to renew the path, so any child can enjoy the beautiful environment and fun of playing with siblings and friends.
